Episode III Teaser Poster - Unveiled!!

Awesome!!!

These celebrity endorsements are getting out of hand...

Bin Laden Tape an endorsement for Kerry?

Ol' Osama is back, and he's practically stumping for Kerry in his latest video.

Best Line:

"We agreed with Mohamed Atta, god bless him, to execute the whole operation in 20 minutes. Before Bush and his administration would pay attention and we never thought that the high commander of the US armies would leave 50 thousand of his citizens in both towers to face the horrors by themselves when they most needed him because it seemed to distract his attention from listening to the girl telling him about her goat butting was more important than paying attention to airplanes butting the towers which gave us three times the time to execute the operation thank god."

Wow, they got Farenheit 9/11 up in those caves? I'll give Michael Moore credit, he sure knows good film distribution. IF that isn't the case, it just shows how "not right in the head" such conspiracy nut jobs are - they think just like the psychos that are out to kill us.

Either way, if you're still undecided, ask this question: Who do the terrorists want as President? When you are able to answer that, vote the opposite.

Three More days till Four more years!!

I Think I really need to buy this CD....

I never thought I'd say this, but Steve Burns, former host of Blues Clues is a genius. After leaving the show, good ol' Steve decided to finally pursue his dream of becoming a rock star, so he released a CD, Songs for Dustmites and it's unbelievably cool. In fact, I would call it uber-cool.

It's got a cool Weezer/Rentals vibe to it, just pop enough to be fun, but indy enough to stay cool and true to it's heart. I've listened to the one minute clip of Mighty Little Man about one hundred times.

I'm not sure if it's good for kids, but they'll love it when they're older. :D I might actually break down and order one of the six dollar used copies from Amazon. That's not a bad deal. :)

Rumors

I'm not sure if I mentioned it, but I spent the better part of last week in my hometown.

My hometown is quite small, a place I lived in for the better part of 18 years (with a slight, six month diversion to Canada in the fourth grade - but that's not important right now), and a place I grew to hate towards the end of high school. Of course, as time as passed, it's not a horrible place to visit, but I'll never move back there.

Anyway, I was able to catch up with an old friend, which was awesome, and I found out a few things, a few rumors, that were going around about me, of all people. When I was younger, rumors bothered me, and, if they're bad rumors they still do. But these were funny, at least I thought.

The first one going around concerned who I was married too. Given the fact that I got married in a church at home, I would never have thought this would be a fact that got mixed up. Of course, I was too lazy to send in an announcement, so confusion is a forgivable offense. Needless to say, when I heard what was going around I laughed it off, because it was funny. (and a frightening idea, come to think of it, if it were true...)

The second (and last) one was that I was working in radio. I have no idea where this one came from - the only thing I can think of is that I might have mentioned to somebody that I was working as a reviewer for the radio station at school - off air. And, I only did that for part of a semester, so it wasn't like I was doing it often.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to work in radio. I've been told I have the face for it. I'm actually honored that somebody thought I had a job that was that cool.

See? Gossip, despite it being evil, can be fun!

Elizabeth Edwards Threatens Riots If Kerry/Edwards doesn't win

Courtesy of the Drudge Report

Elizabeth Edwards is proving to be just as capable of saying stupid things as Lady Heinz. Today, when somebody approached her with the statement "I'm just worried there's going to be riots afterwards.", she replies with "Uh...well....not if we win."

What exactly is she saying? First she accuses the Cheneys of being ashamed of their daughter, and now she says there'll be riots if Bush/Cheney wins? Yeah, that statement is stupid, but it does point out the depths to which some Kerry supporters have gone lately.

Vote Bush! And prepare for riots!

Give me a break.

Partisanship

Yep, I've finally decided to wear my politics on my sleeve.

Or, well, at least my front lawn.

Mad props to Michelles' co-worker Val, who hooked us up with this as a housewarming gift.

Can you see two projects I need to accomplish in this picture?

The "B" Stands for Bandwagon

Alright, I'll admit it - I'm not the die hard Red Sox fan that Josh Edwards is. Heck, I'm not even a good Mets fan.

But today, to honor the team that defeated the Empire, I decided to slap down money for a genuine Red Sox cap.

I was thinking about this season of baseball today, and, should the Red Sox seal the deal against the Cardinals (cleverly dubbed "Red October" by ESPN), how I could parlay the Red Sox story into a nice Star Wars analogy.

Forget what's gone before, really - last season could be considered the prequels, given the climactic rise of the Empire (once again) as Aaron Boone knocked that one outta the park to win the game, but I only want to focus on this season.

This season started off great, in fact, I believe that the Red Sox actually won a good number of games against the Yankees. Those games, let's call them baseballs answer to Episode IV: A New Hope. That works - everyone was saying, "I like Boston's chances this year." - well except for Yankee fans, they were saying "Nah, them boys from Boston will choke again this year." Sort of like when Vader said "We will crush the rebellion", or something to that extent.

Fast forward to the post-season. Pedro's already called the Yanks his daddy, so we've discovered, that in fact, George Steinbrenner is Pedro's father. And the Empire struck back indeed - three straight victories (one where they racked up 19 runs - that's gotta be the sports equivalent to Han being frozen in carbonite) and that "New Hope" from early in the season seems lost.

But then, of course, the Jedi return with a passion. Curt Schilling, Johnny Damon, and the rest of the rebel forces rise up and destroy the empire, but I don't quite believe it's as destroyed as we'd all like it.

Let's hope that the Cardinals are like those pesky post-original trilogy novels, tough, but not too tough for the good guys. It's about time the Sox got that giant Babe Ruth monkey off their back.

This generation's Superman?

Dark Horizons: Superman's Routh Awakening (October 20th, 2004)

Okay Bryan Singer leaving X-3 to direct Superman Returns is old news.

Jim "Jesus" Caviezel was long rumored as a front runner for the Man of Steel.

But it's official - Brandon "Who the Heck am I?" Routh has been cast to play Supes.

Singer wanted an unknown, I guess he got one.

I've seen this for far too long....

I can't wait to go home.

On the road again....

This is my last trip away from home for a while, I hope.

Tonight I'm in Poughkeepsie, watching Caddyshack and laughing my butt off at Rodney Dangerfield. Man, will he be missed.

Anyway, Christopher Reeve died yesterday.

I can't help but flashback to the time that Christopher Reeve came out to give a speech the year after he was paralyzed, at the Oscars. The crowd rose to give him a standing ovation. I was watching with a bunch of friends (film geeks like myself) and as the crowd rose I said the most evil thing ever.

"They're rubbing in the fact that they can stand and he can't."

My friends all told me I'm going to hell.

I'm evil, I know, but that line still makes me laugh. Not because I agree with it's sentiment, but at the fact that it was so off the cuff, and timed perfectly.

Truthfully, it's sad that he's passed on. I'd rather remember him as the man who helped us believe a man could fly, and not the outspoken supporter of Embryonic Stem Cell Research that he became. Sadly, I think the latter will be his legacy.

I won't use this as an opportunity to discuss Stem Cell Research, but I will close with this:

Rest In Peace, Chris, I hope you found it.

Movie of the Year

Alright, it's official, the best movie of the year is Napolean Dynamite.

I've always been a fan of indy film - or at least, I've been a fan of indy movies since high school. They appealed to my artistic side, always surprised me, and were never copycats of each other. But lately, I've sort of steered clear of the indy scene, since I'm hard pressed to find a film that really strikes me.

But Napolean Dynamite changed that.

Watching this movie brought me back to film school - it reminded me of some of the great films that some of my fellow film majors would make. Nothing fancy, no high tech effects, just a good story with solid acting and a ton of laugh out loud moments. From the title character, to the cast of other oddballs, you can't help but enjoy this movie.

Granted, it's not something for everyone - there's really no discernible plot here - but it's something for anyone who's ever felt like an outcast, who's ever stood up for a friend, who's ever felt awkard in school, and who's ever wanted to show off their mad skills to the world without shame.

A lot of the laughs aren't at Napolean, since he doesn't seem to care what others think of him - it's more in spite of him, because he seems to have a confident outlook. And that's refreshing for an indy film, since they usually revel in their pessimism. So if you're going to try and catch a good flick sometime soon, go see this one. It's worth it.

And the soundtrack? Man, it's awesome! From Cyndi Lauper to The Promise - great tunes from the eighties and now.

And hey, the movie comes out on DVD just in time for Christmas (12/21)! For me, it's a must own.

Did Kerry Cheat?

Video Evidence That Could Deflate the theory that Kerry Won last weeks Debate

I was willing to give John Kerry props for winning last Thursday night's debate - he obviously was far more polished than Dubya, better prepared for the evening, and full of more energy.

But, as the above video shows, Kerry might've cheated his way to victory last Thursday.

The Rules of the debate clearly stated:

"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."

But you can clearly see Kerry reach into his pocket, pull something (too large to be a pen, in my honest opinion) out, and place it on the podium, smiling all along. I remember noticing this at the beginning of the debate last week, but not thinking much of it. But now...

Kerry's staff claimed it was a pen, but even at that point, Kerry would be cheating.

Man, if this nation makes this guy our President, I'm going to have a whole lot to complain about to my friends, my wife and in this blog for the next four years. As fun as that sounds, I doubt it would be very pleasant.

So do us all a favor, VOTE BUSH!

Most of this Information was found here - Thanks Drudge!
